Newsletter Update - April 9th, 2022

Howdy Neighbor!

For those that celebrate them, a (belated) Happy Holi, Happy Ramadan, and, soon-to-be Happy Easter and Happy Passover. If you have any interest in having a gathering related to a holiday, feel free to coordinate something with your neighbors via our Facebook group, NextDoor, fliers, word-of-mouth, etc.

It is the season of that which unites us all…more yard work. That also means firing up the irrigation systems for our thirsty plants. Using the free resources below, we have cut our irrigation down to about a fifth of what we were doing before and our lawn and landscaping have thrived because of it.

- Michael J Casavant, CENA President

Easily optimizing your irrigation: Texas A&M's AgriLife Extension center is here to help us water our yards efficiently with a great site called "Water My Yard" (watermyyard.org). Just tell it your info and what sort of notices you want. They assess rainfall and let you know how much to water. Then switch your system to manual and run as needed (finish before 10 AM or start after 6 PM). Easy peasy! We haven't had to irrigate for well over four months!

The budget front: In the next month or so, we will have to start tapping into our emergency reserve and our Entryways Chair, Scott Sweeney, tells us that we should expect to have a major irrigation repair in April or May. If you haven't donated yet this year, please consider doing so; we suggest $120/year. Not sure if you gave? Check the donor roll on our site: creekbendestatesplano.blogspot.com.

As always, the choice is yours, can you help out?

Thank you for your kind consideration and being a good neighbor.
