Howdy, neighbor! Folks really came through with donations later in 2024 and we are in a pretty safe spot for now. Thank you!

Howdy Neighbor!
If you're like us, you are enjoying this cooler weather. It made for an especially pleasant Plano International Festival this past weekend.
Howdy Neighbor!
For those that celebrate them, a (belated) Happy Holi, Happy Ramadan, and, soon-to-be Happy Easter and Happy Passover. If you have any interest in having a gathering related to a holiday, feel free to coordinate something with your neighbors via our Facebook group, NextDoor, fliers, word-of-mouth, etc.
Howdy Neighbor!
What a strange few months we have had - the Capitol insurrection, snowmageddon, and a third and maybe fourth wave of COVID-19. It feels like 2021 is trying to outdo 2020 for Worst Year Ever.
In spite of being careful, Catherine and I came down with COVID-19 when we had the big spike mid-January. Thankfully, it was not serious and we will be fully vaccinated by month's end.
One silver lining: A friend staying at our house managed to avoid catching it from us by double-masking and social distancing. We are thankful that they did not get it and are now fully vaccinated.
Howdy Neighbor!
As the year draws to a close and we enjoy a few days of unseasonably warm weather to knock out some outdoor chores or take a stroll in the park, I'd like to thank you for being good neighbors.
It's an understatement to say it's been a year with a lot of stress and turmoil. A year in which many folks have struggled to find the better angels of their nature. We have weathered it in stride, taken care of some random emergencies with our entryways, and remained neighborly along the way.
This Veteran's Day reminds me of my own service in the US Army and a profound lesson I took away from it. As soon as I turned 18 (more than a few years ago), I enlisted in the Army down at the recruiting station at Ruisseau Village, about a mile from our neighborhood, which is still in the same place today.
