Annual Chlorine Water Treatment Starting March 13th

The City of Plano has notified us that the North Texas Municipal Water District will be treating our water. It will involve adding straight chlorine to the water supply for a period of 28 days. This helps keep the water clean and reduce the amount of flushing cities need to do.  On that note, the city will be flushing water periodically as well.
The treatment started at 8:00 AM, Monday, March 13th, so it should be finished by Tuesday, April 11th.
What does it mean to you? There may be a chlorine taste to the water. It’s not dangerous, but it might be unpalatable to some. Common filtration systems usually do a good job off eliminating this.
