Treasurer’s Budget and Membership Report – Fall 2015

Status of Contributions

  • 2015 Goal: $5,500
  • Current progress: 65%

Water Restrictions

Because of a relatively wet winter and increased lake levels, Plano has reduced the watering restrictions for residents and Neighborhood Associations to twice a week. At the same time, the cost of water has been significantly increased. For a detailed description of the watering regulations, see the Plano government website at:

http://www.plano.gov/220/Water-Conservation-Restrictions-Home

At the beginning of the year, the CENA board of directors set a contribution goal of $5,500 to cover all normal maintenance tasks with repairs as necessary, water and electric bills and installation of the drip systems at all three entryways.

The good news is, your association has installed drip watering systems at the Orlando and Lakeway entryways, allowing us to water much more efficiently. After a long dry summer, our plantings remain in good condition. And our water bills are lower than they would have been with standard sprinklers.

The bad news is that we still need to complete the third, and final drip system conversion at the Lakestream entryway. Our increased watering efficiency is being offset by higher rates. so this installation is critical to keeping our maintenance costs down.

Budget Progress Year-to-Date

Our contributions to date total $3600, or about 65% of the goal. This was contributed by 50 households, or 36% of the 138 homes in our neighborhood. On an encouraging note, the average contribution has increased to $72 per contributing household. A SPECIAL THANKS to everyone who has participated so far, and especially to those who have generously increased their annual amount! Now we need to cover the rest of our budget needs from the remaining 88 households in our neighborhood and from any generous souls willing to make an additional contribution.

A reminder email will be coming out soon to those who have not contributed yet, so please respond. For those in the neighborhood who are new, or for whom we don’t have a valid email address, please send us that information by filling out the form included in this news letter.

Remember that all of us benefit from entryway maintenance, crime watch protection and fun neighborhood activities, so please do your part and contribute.
