National Drug Take Back This Saturday

The Plano Police will be conducting their National Drug Take Back this Saturday.  The details are as follows:

Hello Plano neighbor,

REMINDER: National Drug Take Back is THIS Saturday, September 26, 2015.
The event begins at 10:00 am and runs until 2:00 pm and will be held at the following four locations:

- Plano Senior High (2200 Independence Pkwy)
- Plano East Senior High (3000 Los Rios Blvd)
- Plano West Senior High (5601 W. Parker Rd)
- Clark High (523 W. Spring Creek Pkwy)

This is a great time to clean out your medicine cabinet! Protect our kids, families and environment by properly disposing of your unwanted and expired medicines. Medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and flushed medicines can end up polluting our waters. Rates of prescription drug abuse are alarmingly high - over half of teens abusing medicines get them from a family member or friend, including the home medicine cabinet, and often without their knowledge.

Each of our convenient locations offer curbside service...just pull up to the front of the school and we will have officers and Plano Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association volunteers there to help. Pass the word to your friends and neighbors! The DEA suspended this program earlier this year but picked it up again. We don't know if this will continue or not but we think that if we can continue to get support, and a lot of medications turned in, they will see there is still a need and that the program is a success. Please, come out of help us in this great event. Myself, along with Crime Prevention Officers Dawson, Bianez, Bauer and Sergeant Britton will be out at various sites helping collect. I hope to see you there!
